Over the course of my career, I have worked with individuals and families navigating complex medical transitions. Many are recovering from surgery, adjusting after serious illness, or preparing to return home safely after hospitalization.

In those moments, families are often faced with important questions about safety, mobility, and independence at home. Many are trying to answer the same question: how do we help our loved one remain safely in their home for as long as possible?

These situations require thoughtful consideration of mobility, fall risk, the physical environment of the home, and the types of support that can help someone remain safe while preserving independence.
